In 1842, the word "pakalolo" appeared in Ka Nonanona, a Hawaiian-language newspaper, during the reign of Kamehameha III. At that time, Hawaiʻi was an independent, sovereign nation. Cannabis wasn't a crime—it was part of everyday life.

Criminalization came later, after the overthrow, when U.S.-controlled laws replaced Kingdom law. Much of today's stigma grew from those later laws, not from the earlier Kingdom-era context.

This design honors that history. The flag represents Hawaiian sovereignty. The plant represents cultural truth.

History deserves to be worn.

Limited capsule. Available through January 2026.
